Kermit Lynch Wine Tasting

Join Ermanos wine curator Anya Linda and local wine guru/bee whisperer Noel Patterson for a tasting as we sample four Kermit Lynch wines ranging from the island of Corsica to the Loire Valley. Each 3 oz pour will include a special food pairing chosen by Ermanos Chef David Valencia.

"Wine is, above all, about pleasure. Those who make it ponderous make it dull . . . If you keep an open mind and take each wine on its own terms, there is a world of magic to discover.” - Kermit Lynch

Known in some circles as the Anti- Robert Parker, American importer Kermit Lynch can be considered the godfather of bringing French wine to the states. His wines range from simple to complex with an emphasis on staying true to the terroir of the region. Join us for this tasting journey as we dive deep into the mind of master Kermit Lynch. The following four wines will be featured:

(1) Yves Leccia Patrimonio Blanc, 2014
Varietal: Vermentino
Region: Patriminio, Corsica FRA
Mineral driven with notes of wild herbs and lemon citrus. Sunshine, wet sand, and salty sea breeze in a glass.

(2) Domaine de Fontsainte Corbieres Gris de Gris, 2014
Varietal: Corbiéres
Region: Languedoc-Roussillon, FRA
Fresh picked strawberries and rose petals with a touch of tart rhubarb. A hint of pink grapefruit keeps things interesting. Think Ladies that Lunch meet the Mad Hatter’s tea party.

(3) Chignard Fleurie Les Moriers Cru Beaujolais, 2014
Varietal: Gamay
Region: Burgundy, FRA
Pretty and feminine with lots of delicate red fruit yet plenty of funk.

(4) Domaine Charles Joguet Les Petroches Chinon, 2009
Varietal: Cabernet Franc
Region: Loire, FRA
Full and muscular with a deep earthy quality and notes of leather. Plenty of tart red fruit and leafy greens keep it true to Cab Franc. In short: a leather daddy frolicking through a field of raspberries.
